What do I need to have a positive attitude?
Being positive is a great state of mind. When you have a positive attitude all communication becomes easier, you‘ll be energized and in harmony with life. I think there are three basic factors that can affect your positivity. These factors don’t make you positive but it’s harder to maintain a positive attitude without them.
- Good health
- Enough money to lead a good life
- Courage and will to grow and develop as an individual.
Good health is very important because it can be hard to be positive if your health is in bad shape or some kind of sickness is bothering you. Also you need enough money for living, poverty can easily terminate any positive thinking. Maybe the most important factor is the will and courage to grow as an individual. Where there is will, there is a way!
With that said positivity is something that you can always find even though you have a terminal disease or living on the street. It’s a mindset is that you decide for yourself.
What can help me on my way to positive thinking?
- Take responsibility for your life. You and you alone have control over your thinking so stop blaming your negativity on something or somebody else.
- Demand positive thinking. When negativity crawls up to you, replace those thoughts with something positive. See the positive side of the situation, there is always a positive side, believe me.
- Choose the people you are around. Don’t feed the negativity monster by listening or talking to people who are in a negative mental state. Of course you don’t have to block them from your life, but you can choose to leave or change the conversation if it’s to negative. Surround yourself with positive people, because we become a lot like the people we spend the most time with.
- When you read, listen or watch something, look at it as something you eat. What is going into your mind? Is it negative and demolishing or something positive and inspiring?
Being positive is an ongoing battle, but it becomes easier and easier when you practice positive thinking everyday and focus on the bright side of life.
